Company Choreographer
Michelle Durber started dancing at Dellos at the age of seven and was taught by Miss B herself. Michelle began student-teaching under Miss B’s guidance at the age of eleven and gave up her Saturdays to spend with beginners in the classroom. As a child, Michelle performed in “The Nutcracker” with The Joffrey Ballet of Chicago. She was a featured dancer in a Saban Entertainment music video and gave hours of community service to the non-profit organization, “Future America-Teens For a Brighter Tomorrow”. Song Captain for her Nationally ranked Ayala Spirit Squad, Michelle juggled her time between song competitions and school events with dancing competitively on Dellos teams, winning Regional and National titles for her solos. Her dream of teaching dance as a career came the day after her high school graduation when she approached Miss B and said, “I’d love the opportunity to train under you…I’ll teach any age and any level and I promise to be at Dellos 24/7 whenever you need me!” Michelle attended Orange Coast College to study child development and became a member of their award-winning OCC Dance & Song Team. She owned her own “portable” dance business, “Dance Depot”, traveling and teaching dance and music appreciation in pre-schools within a 30-mile radius. Michelle is engaged to Corporal Ian Dilly of Chino Hills who was deployed for Iraq in August 2008. Just promoted to Sergeant, he is scheduled to return home March of 2009. Michelle is anxiously awaiting her love’s return, excited to finalize their wedding plans and look for a new home to share together in the next chapter of her life! “I hope Ian is ready to sit through long weekend competitions again…he’ll just have to come along with me cause my kids are my life!”, she smiles.
